Getting Hero Shots every time

Pose Flow scores every photo across six metrics. Here's how to max each one:

MetricHow to nail it
Pose AlignmentFollow the reference, but relax. A natural 75% beats a stiff 90%.
ExpressionThink of something genuinely happy or confident. Forced expressions show up.
LightingFace a window. Avoid overhead fluorescents. Golden hour is your friend.
Focus & SharpnessHold steady. Use a tripod or lean against a wall for self-shoots.
Background CleanlinessSimple beats fancy. A plain wall outperforms a busy room.
Subject PresenceFull body in frame with a little headroom. Don't crop off your feet.
Guide 6

Reviewing & sharing your photos

Reviewing

1
Open the Gallery tab β€” photos are sorted by tier (Hero Shots at the top).
2
Tap any photo to see its full breakdown β€” pose match, expression, lighting, etc.
3
Use the reference overlay to compare your shot to the original pose.

Share cards

Pose Flow generates styled share cards β€” tap a photo β†’ Share Card β†’ choose My Story or Profile. Cards are 1080Γ—1440 (3:4) β€” ready for Instagram Stories or posts.

Guide 7

Pose School: learn the fundamentals

Pose Flow includes Pose School β€” 40 short lessons covering posture basics, hand & arm positioning, facial expressions, natural light, angles, and building confidence on camera.

Access: Browse tab β†’ Pose School section at the top.

Each completed lesson earns you XP and is tracked on your profile. Do one lesson before each shoot β€” even a 60-second refresher makes a big difference.

Guide 8

Subscriptions, trials & restoring purchases

Starting a free trial

1
Tap any Pro feature (e.g., a locked pack).
2
The paywall opens β€” choose Monthly ($4.99) or Annual ($39.99).
3
Confirm with Face ID / Touch ID. Your trial starts. No charge until day 7.

Restoring purchases

Guide 9

Tips for self-shooting (solo sessions)

1. Use a tripod or prop. A stable phone = sharper photos. A stack of books also works.

2. Use the 5s or 10s timer. Enough time to get into position and settle.

3. Use the Volume button shutter β€” press with your hand, foot, or a Bluetooth remote.

4. Face a window. Natural, directional light beats overhead.

5. Use front camera for framing, then flip. Rear cameras have better sharpness.

6. Shoot more than you think. Hero Shots often come from the 10th–15th attempt, not the first.

Guide 10

Tips for shooting with a friend or photographer

1. Let them see the reference. Prop the phone so you both know the target pose.

2. Communicate. Use the guidance ticker as a coaching prompt β€” "chin down", "weight to left leg".

3. Shoot in bursts. Ask them to tap the shutter quickly so you can micro-adjust between frames.

4. Review together. After 5–10 shots, open the gallery β€” see which ones are Hero Shots and adjust.

5. Rotate. Swap places so both of you get coached.

Installation & Launch
Pose Flow requires iOS 17.6 or later. Update your iPhone: Settings β†’ General β†’ Software Update. If you're on an unsupported device, unfortunately Pose Flow isn't compatible yet.
  • Force quit and reopen: swipe up from the bottom, swipe Pose Flow up to close, then reopen.
  • Restart your iPhone. Hold the side button + volume down until the slider appears.
  • Check for an app update in the App Store.
  • If it keeps crashing, delete and reinstall. Export anything you want to keep first.
Camera & Permissions
  • Make sure Pose Flow has camera permission: iPhone Settings β†’ Pose Flow β†’ Camera β†’ On.
  • Close any other app that might be using the camera (Zoom, FaceTime, other camera apps).
  • Force quit Pose Flow and reopen. Then restart your iPhone.

Wipe your lens (fixes most blurry complaints). Tap the preview to focus. For slow response, close background apps and restart your iPhone. Note: older iPhones (11/XR) may run at a lower frame rate β€” this is expected.
Pose Matching
  • Stand further back so your full body is in frame.
  • Improve lighting. A well-lit room or outdoor shade works best. Backlit or very dim scenes confuse the detector.
  • Wear clothes that contrast with the background.
  • Reduce clutter. Other people in the background can confuse the matcher.
  • Remember: Aim for 70%, not 100%.
This usually means the app can't detect a body in frame. Step back, make sure you're fully visible, improve lighting, and try flipping to the rear camera.
Photos & Gallery
Swipe down to force refresh. Close and reopen the app. If photos are still missing, they may have failed to save due to low storage β€” check iPhone Settings β†’ General β†’ iPhone Storage (you need at least 500 MB free).
Pose Flow saves photos to its in-app gallery by default β€” not automatically to iOS Photos. To export: open Gallery β†’ tap a photo β†’ Share β†’ Save to Photos. Or enable Settings β†’ Camera β†’ Auto-save to Photo Library.
Subscriptions & Purchases
Open Pose Flow β†’ Settings β†’ Restore Purchases. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase. Wait 10–15 seconds for the app to re-sync. If nothing happens, force quit and reopen. Still stuck? Email info@poseflow.app with your Apple ID receipt number.
A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. To request a refund: visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Then cancel the subscription in iPhone Settings β†’ your name β†’ Subscriptions β†’ Pose Flow.
iPhone Settings β†’ [your name] β†’ Subscriptions β†’ Pose Flow β†’ Cancel Subscription. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Performance & Battery
Real-time pose matching uses the GPU and camera continuously. Tips: close the camera when not actively shooting; use Low Power Mode between sessions; bring a battery pack for longer shoots; reduce screen brightness.
Pause for a minute every 10–15 minutes of continuous camera use. Avoid shooting in direct sunlight. Don't charge and shoot at the same time β€” that amplifies heat. If your iPhone shows a temperature warning, stop shooting and let it cool.
Close background apps. Restart your iPhone. Delete photos you don't need β€” a very full gallery can slow down scrolling. On older iPhones (11, XR), pose matching runs at a lower frame rate β€” this is expected.
Crashes & Freezes
  • Reopen it β€” iOS usually recovers from a single crash.
  • If it keeps crashing, restart your iPhone.
  • Check for an app update in the App Store.
  • If it persists, email info@poseflow.app with your iPhone model, iOS version, what you were doing, and approximate time.
Sign-In Issues
Apple: Make sure you're signed into iCloud and Two-Factor Authentication is enabled (iPhone Settings β†’ [your name] β†’ Sign-In & Security).

Google: Check your internet connection, disable any VPN, try signing out and back into Google on Safari first.
Yes. Sign-in is optional. Tap Continue as Guest during onboarding.
